The last Primus video, which was their first in nearly a decade, was for the track "Tragedy's A' Comin'"off the group's equally new record, "Green Naugahyde" featured Les Claypool in a lobster-suit. While it might've - that statement shouldn't surprise you if you've been a fan of the eclectic 3-piece over their over two-decade tenure.

So how you follow up Les Claypool in a lobster suit? Well, it seems you can't. That might be why the band opted for an animated video for 'Naugahyde's' second single, "Lee Van Cleef", a funky and massively bass driven tune (as most Primus songs are) about the iconic 20th Century film star. It's a catchy son of a bitch.

On a warm Saturday night in May in New York (Fuckin') City there is no shortage of good times to be had. Some sort of depravity or amazingness exists around literally every corner and the difficult decision must be made as to where to end up. I decided to go and see Go For Launch, a band who wrote a record that I have been listening to OBSESSIVELY since the moment I received a review copy a few MONTHS ago, play at The Studio at Webster Hall. I made a good fucking choice.

The Westchester County, NY based Go For Launch are a favorite of everyone here at Tri-State Rock. What we've learned, though, is that its not just us - this band is about as addictive to the ears as meth is to middle-America. Every time we play tunes off their most recent record, "Frequency Change", new fans are instantly born. I've said it before and I'll say it again - Go For Launch's "blast-off" is imminent. (No, I won't apologize for the gratuitous pun.)

Go For Launch is a staggeringly talented 5-piece that is preparing to take the music world by storm. The Westchester County, NY locals came into the studio last week and graciously played an 8 song acoustic set for us. The set, which was put together for the Tri-State Rock: Studio Sessions series, will be premiered in the coming weeks on our LIVE broadcasts and will be archived on www.tri-staterock.com thereafter.
