It’s been nearly 11 years since NO DOUBT has attempted to make a mark on music. Many fans have been excited these past couple of years with rumors of a new album circulating airwaves and eardrums. Well, the wait is coming to an end my friends! NO DOUBT have confirmed a September 25, 2012 release of the band’s sixth studio album titled Push And Shove. As an added spark to this awesome surprise, the band announced that their first single titled “Settle Down,” will debut July 16th.

When you think of Boston’s rock scene, what comes to mind? I immediately think of THE DROPKICK MURPHYS, THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSTONES, and a lot of hardcore punk bands. Every once and a while, a rare eccentricity will arise from the city on the hill and smash expectations. This is one of those times!

 

DAS MUERTE is a four piece from Boston, MA. It’s so difficult to classify them, so I won’t. They break barriers with their sound, combining funk, metal, fun tempo changes, and everything but the kitchen sink. The group remains somewhat mysterious, but here’s a fun fact:

Although many Metallica fans have had mixed feelings about the band’s most recent endeavor with Lou Reed, entitled "Lulu", many are still thrilled to have the opportunity to see the band live again this summer in a festival setting.  The "Orion Music and More Festival" will be hitting Bader Field in Atlantic City on June 23 & 24.  Today a new video trailer was released to promote the festival event. 

 

'Orion' will feature several stages including the Damage Inc. Stage that will be completely devoted to punk and thrash music.  The festival will feature not only music, but also comedy by Jim Breuer among other non-musical acts.

While Sevendust fans may be a bit disappointed that the hard rock scene staple is taking things slow, they do have something to look forward to. Call Me No One, the band formed when Clint Lowery and Morgan Rose decided that they weren’t looking to take a break, are getting close to having some music to share with the world.
