ENORMOUS 2012 Lollapalooza lineup officially revealed; rumors confirmed
While you might've thought that all of the big summer tours had already broke their silence and unleashed their line-ups on the hordes of concert-goers - there has been one pretty BIG holdout (other than 'Uproar'): Lollapalooza.
Earlier in the week, there were rumblings of a leaked line-up, featuring Red Hot Chili Peppers and Black Sabbath as the headliners. While this didn't seem too off-target, it was still nothing more than some well-founded rumors...until this morning.
It seems that the rumors were true, as the official line-up for the 2012 Lollapalooza Festival has been revealed, via a post and video via the festival's official webpage. While 'RHCP' and 'Sabbath' were right on target, The Black Keys seem to have earned a higher spot on the bill than Ozzy and the boys. Not sure how that'll play out, but its a show to see despite that potential hiccup.
In addition to the 'Chili Peppers', The Black Keys and Black Sabbath, the festival also features the likes of Florence + The Machine, Jack White, At The Drive-In, Bassnectar, Fun., The Temper Trap & an incomprehensible amount more. The full list of bands is available at this link, as it is much too long to be posted here.
Touting over 100 bands with eclectic styles and completely varied backgrounds, it seems the tour is staying true to its roots and is providing fans with an opportunity to see not just their favorite bands and artists, but to be exposed to other great new music that they might not otherwise ever hear.
Check out the video that was used to reveal the tour's lineup below:
The festival is set to take place from August 3-5 at Grant Park in Chicago, IL. Unfortunately, for those of us here in the Tri-State area, it'll be a bit of a trek - but for such an enormous and eclectic line-up...it may be worth it. Tickets are selling quickly, but are available for purchase here, along with lodging and travel information.
Maybe we'll get lucky and see something on this scale hosted at CENTRAL PARK one of these days?
