Grammy nominated progressive metal monolith DREAM THEATER has announced a leg of summer dates via the band’s official Facebook page.

The band is continuing to tour in support of 2011’s “On The Backs Of Angels”, for which the band earned the aforementioned Grammy Nomination, their first. Dream Theater came through town with a stellar show at the Beacon Theater back in October and this time are playing TWO nights, back to back at the brand new and critically acclaimed Paramount Theater in Huntington, NY on July 18 and 19.

With state of the art technology, fantastic sound and an impressive roster, the Paramount just might be giving the Best Buy Theater in NYC a run for its money in terms of swanky new venues chock full of amenities to enhance the concert experience. That’s not to say that your favorite hole in the wall venue isn’t equally capable of putting on an outstanding rock show, but its nice to see some of the bells and whistles that are a staple of the arena rock shows being brought down into smaller clubs, giving a band like Dream Theater the ability to bring their full stage show into a more intimate setting.

If Long Island isn’t your thing, the tour will also be coming to the considerably larger PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey on July 14. The entire list of currently announced dates is available here. More information on ticket sales will be made as they become available!
