If you were able to catch the promo video for this summer’s Mayhem Festival, you are no doubt excited about seeing Slipknot - especially due to Clown’s performance in that video.  If you haven't, check it out here. Unfortunately, Slipknot percussionist M. Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, will undergo knee surgery on March 29.  He writes on his official Facebook page,

"Knee surgery on Thursday. I cannot jump like Sid [Wilson, SLIPKNOT DJ]. When I do, I have to get knee surgery.  I am going to have a lot of weird questions that my wife and friends make up so they can ask them to me right when I wake up from my surgery. They will film my responses and I will post them. Should be frightening. Filming the surgery as well. Should be fun to watch them manipulate my knee. I get strange when they put me under."

M. Shawn Crahan and Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor recently started a film and television production company called Living Breathing Films.   Crahan will also star in the upcoming film “The Devil’s Carnival”.  If you’re in the Tri-State area you can attend an exclusive event that will feature carnival acts, special personality meet and greets, Q&A forums, sing-alongs, costume contests, and a whole lot of devilish behavior. Audiences will get to enjoy never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage and bonus features from Repo! The Genetic Opera (also from Devil’s Carnival Director,  Darren Bousman, who we’ll have for an interview on Tri-State Rock in two weeks) and, most notably, an exclusive viewing of The Devil's Carnival.

We can only hope that Crahan’s knee surgery won’t hinder any of his future musical plans.  Plenty of fans are looking forward to Crahan’s film debut and his performance with Slipknot at this summer’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
