Ol' Dirty Bastard Biopic in the Works - Michael K. Williams signs on to Play ODB
In 2004 Ol' Dirty Bastard left this world. He left us with a void that cannot be filled by anyone no matter how hard they try. No one to pull up to the welfare office in a limo to collect his welfare check while MTV cameras looked on. No one to take the Grammys hostage to tell the world Wu-Tang not Puffy should have won Best Rap Album (Try all you want Kanye you did it at the VMAs your shit's weak). No one to proclaim on record; "I keep shit stains in my drawz so i can get fuzzy funky for ya." But after eight long years we might just be able to get one final dose of Ol' Dirty Bastard... Sort of.
It has been announced that a biopic titled "Dirty White Boy," is in the works. The film will chronicle the final years of the troubled rappers life. The role of ODB will be played by Michael K. Williams, of "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Wire" fame. If Williams previous work is any indicator, he is more than capable of bringing ODB's larger than life persona to the big screen.
The film will be directed by Joaquin Baca-Asay most noted for directing Jay-Z's "99 Problems" video. Few other details have been released, but we will keep you posted as more information becomes available. Until that time i leave you with a classic track from the man himself.
