With The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival right around the corner, fans have one more reason to raise their horns high! SLAYER has confirmed an EP to be released prior to Mayhem.

According to “The Nervous Breakdown” and “Blabbermouth.net”, drummer Dave Lombardo commented on SLAYER's status, "[We're] writing new music. Kerry [King, guitar] and I are writing new material. We have nine songs and everything's moving forward."

Of course, we’d love to know what to expect from these metal masters. "[It sounds like] Slayer... Traditional fans will be pacified and non-traditional fans will be like, Again?'"

When asked about a release date for an album or single Lombard stated, "I don't know, but we're going to do a three- or four-song EP to keep the fans pacified until we come out with the full-length record. Kind of like what we did with 'Psycopathy Red', which was like a two-song 45. Watch a video for SLAYER's 'World Painted Blood' below.
