This year’s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival is set to be one of the summer’s biggest concert events.  With headliners Anthrax, Motorhead, Slayer and the one and only Slipknot, it seems like this summer festival is any metal head’s wet dream.

The Mayhem Fest is offering three different stages, the Main Stage, Jagermeister Stage and the Sumerian Records Stage, with bands that produce heart-pounding, face melting heavy metal.  Besides the aforementioned headliners other acts include Anthrax, Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, White Chapel, High on Fire, Upon a Burning Body, I, The Breather, Dirtfedd and more! Tickets for the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival go on sale Friday April 6 and can be purchased here: http://rockstarmayhemfest.com

Over the next 5 weeks I’ll be sharing the top 5 reasons you should be totally excited for this years Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival:

5. VIP Packages available when tickets go on sale.

(Check out last week's article for the full scoop)

4. Motorhead and the Sumerian Records Stage bringing unique opportunity to musicians

When the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival was announcing there lineup back in January fans were intrigued by the announcement of a surprise band that would be announced at a later date.  Much to many metal fans surprise, it was legendary band Motorhead.

The delayed announcement may have been due to negotiations between the band and the concert producers.  Not only are Motorhead joining this year’s Mayhem Festival as performers, but they will have their very own stage promoted by their record label Sumerian Records.  On March 5, the announcement was made that Motorhead will be a part of the main stage line-up.  Another surprise announcement was that Sumerian Records and Headbang the Highway will be presenting the Sumerian Records Stage.  The label will be bringing Upon a Burning Body, I the Breather, and another TBD act along for the ride.

Not only is the band producing their own stage, but they are also bringing a unique opportunity to fans who are also musicians.  Headbang for the Highway will be holding contests all over the U.S. for unsigned bands to win opening spots on the Sumerian Records Stage.  So if your unsigned band is itching to be a part of the Mayhem Fest next year visit www.facebook.com/sumerianrecords for more info.  This is an opportunity that you won’t find on many other concert tours, yet another reason to get excited for the Mayhem Festival this year.
