The Who's Keith Moon is Asked to Perform at the 2012 Olympics. One Big Problem... He's Dead!!
The entire world is watching. Billions upon billions of people looking on in hopes their country comes home with the gold. You gotta kick it off with a bang. How do you completely stun an audience and make this the most talked about Olympics ever? Raise the dead, of course.
That seems to be what organizers of the 2012 Olympic Games in London had in mind for this years opening ceremony. The ceremony's organizers sent an email to The Who's management asking if Keith Moon would be available to perform. The only problem is Moon has been dead for 34 years. Ooops.
The Who's manager Bill Curbishley responded by saying, "Keith now resides in Golders Green crematorium, having lived up to The Who's anthemic line 'I hope I die before I get old.' If they have a round table, some glasses, and candles we might contact him."
It definitely would have made for an interesting opening ceremony. If they were gonna perform a seance for the opening ceremony why not go for the gold and see if Satan could come light the torch. Now that would make the Olympics way more Metal.
