Andre 3000 to Play Jimi Hendrix in Upcoming Biopic

It's been nearly 42 years since the rock world lost Jimi Hendrix. Now, it seems, the guitar god will be resurrected. After lingering in the rumor mill for years, "All is by My Side" a biopic chronicling the meteoric rise of Hendrix is officially in the works, according to the Irish Film and Television Network.
Hendrix will be played by hip hop icon Andre 3000 of Outcast (a brilliant choice if I may say so myself). John Ridley, writer of 1999's "Three Kings" and 1997's "U Turn," is slated to write and direct the film.
Taking place in 1966 and 1967, the film will reportedly delve into the early stages of Hendrix career in England, and explore the making of his classic debut "Are You Experienced."
Production of the much anticipated film is set to begin in three weeks in Dublin, Ireland.
