Korn will be invading the Paramount on May 8th in Huntington, NY and they’ll be bringing some interesting company along for the ride. Jonathan Davis, Korn’s lead vocalist, has been declared commander general as he provides most of the entertainment for the “Path of Totality” Tour. Opening up for Korn will be his disc jockey alter-ego, “J Devil”, and dub-step sensation “Sluggo”.

This being the tour’s 3rd leg passing through North America, it is pretty evident that their 10th studio album, “Path Of Totality” might be considered to be one of their most successful. With help from producers Skrillex and Noisia, Korn has led itself into a new musical direction. Although, it has been much criticized for its usage of “dub-step” sounds throughout the album by long-time fans, Jonathan Davis has defended “Path” by stating:

I want to trail-blaze. I want to change things. I want to do things we're not supposed to do. I want to create art that's different and not conform to what's going on. We didn't make a dubstep album. We made a Korn album.”

Singles off this album include “Narcissistic Cannibal” and “Get Up”, a top ten hit on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Songs chart. The official video for “Get Up” can be seen below.

This date marks the second time Korn has visited the Tri-State area in the past 6 months.  In November, Korn entertained fans at the Roseland Ballroom and the Paramount in Huntington, NY. The setlist is an incredible jumble of older material such as “Predictable”, and newer material such as “Kill Mercy Within”, and “My Wall”. Those thirsty for well-known hits weren’t disappointed with the inclusion of “Freak on a Leash”, “Falling Away From Me” and many more.

Stay tuned to Tri-State Rock for more on this show including an interview with the band and a full review of the show!
