Soulfly returning to the Tri-State area to rock the Gramercy Theater next month
Soulfly, who have been in the news of late due to the combination of the new material that they just released and the recent bout of Bell's Palsy that frontman Max Cavalera has experienced, are embarking on a spring tour and will be hitting the Tri-State area next month! The band, known and loved for their thematically-charged lyrics and signature sound, have had shaky but consistent success. Over the years the band has gone through several roster changes, with with drummer David Kinkade and bassist Tony Campos both joining the band less than a year ago, back in July and August 2011, respectively.
Their new album, Enslaved, was released last week on 3/13. While a full review of the album is still forthcoming, first impressions and the general consensus are both very positive. Pick up the new record (which can be purchased here) and jam out to some oldies, but goodies, because you'll want to be prepared when Max and the rest of Soulfly take the stage at the Gramercy Theater on April 27. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased here.
We'll have more information on the tour, coverage of the show and a review of the album all for you. Check back with Tri-State Rock as more information on this story will be provided as it is made available.
